Research and experimental development comprise creative and systematic work in order to add to our current understanding —including knowledge about culture and society— and also to enhance the creation of new applications for existing knowledge (OECD, 2015).
FUBA’s Department of Research and Graduate Studies is in charge of the management, promotion, and divulgation of all the basic, applied, and creative research activity held within the institution.
Bellas Artes University Foundation’s Department of Research and Graduate Studies strives to set the administrative and academic framework required for the exercise of research by students, teachers, and by other agents of the University Foundation, as needed. The Department’s objective is to advise, assist and support the formulation and development of basic, applied, and creative research required internally and externally on the academic, artistic, cultural, scientific, and technological fields. Additionally, it is the Department’s mission to know and study the diverse processes developed around the artistic and cultural areas in Antioquia and Colombia.
Bellas Artes University Foundation’s Department of Research and Graduate Studies intends to be recognized in 2020 at the institutional, city, and country levels because of its academic, artistic, musical, cultural, scientific, and technological research. This recognition will be possible thanks to the different actors that have assisted the Department in reaching its mission and achieving its goals.
To increase the institution’s capacity for research and artistic creation, by means of the formulation of policies, plans, projects, and different mechanisms for their execution and monitoring. The institution will follow the guidelines of the Science and Technology National System for this task.
